Governor Godwin. N OBASEKI

In what is akin to a record breaking feat of some kind, the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Obaseki just yesterday appointed to serve his government a whopping number of aides, 192 special advisers in all.

As a continuation of his principle of all inclusive governance style, the idea for such a world record appointment is so as to make sure that governance one way or the other is felt at all wards in the state.

The 192 new appointees are from the 192 wards in the 18 Local Government Areas of the state. Each would be the eyes and ears and extensions of the Governor and Government in their wards.

The announcement of the appointments was made only yesterday, Friday, June 2, 2017 by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Osarodion Ogie. According to the SSG, offices would soon be set up in all the wards, with adequate communication equipments for each of the SA’s.

At least by this appointments, one member of a ward each or community cannot deny not to be a part of Government and Governance in Edo State. Meaning also that 192 persons have been employed and taken off the labour market in the employment drive of the State Government. One of the 10 cardinal points of the Governor’s campaign promises is to make sure to provide 200000 new jobs for the state, over the next 4 years.

This is a unique approach of governance by incumbent, Godwin Obaseki, after the 8 eventful years of governance by the past government of Adams Oshiomhole, which would not be forgotten in a hurry.
