…by this special feat Tobi Amusan becomes the 1st Nigerian ever and African for that matter, to make such unbelievable magic happen in the 100 meters hurdles race and at the World Championships for that matter! What a great global stage to set alight !

Just after 1am Nigerian time in the USA at the ongoing World Championships in Oregon 2022, the phenomenal, the incomparable, the extraordinary ‘Tobi Amusan’ full name ‘Oluwatobiloba (God is a mighty king) Ayomide Amusan’ 25, from Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State of Nigeria, literally annihilated and obliterated all comers including the former world record holder from the USA in the person of Kendra ‘Keni’ Harrison, leaving smoke in her wake at the 1st semi-final of 3 of the 100m hurdles at the Oregon 2022 WC presently ongoing.

The ever improving young lady had signposted what she was about in one of the heats before the semifinal when she blasted home at the world’s fastest time of 12.40 a new African record which she had improved on 3 times already, the latest of which was at her last heat that she won by a margin.

So come this semifinal race, she ran next to her American counterpart and now former record holder-Kendra Harrison and she left her and all others so far behind clocking an unbelievable quite phenomenal 12.12seconds a ‘new world record’ which the record breaker looked at in disbelief when it came out on the electronic monitor! Totally astonished by what she had just accomplished!

For that record breaking feat alone, the African record holder, Commonwealth games defending champion and now “latest ‘world record holder’ is entitled to an astonishing sum of $100,000 that’s about 65 plus million Naira for breaking the world record!

And she’s still going to be running in the finals to fight for the GOLD 🏅medal!

A massive congratulations to her.
